Historic Wynne-Russell House
The Wynne-Russell House is a historic building, which has been standing since the 1820s. The inside is kept era-appropriate by the Wynne-Russell House Preservation Council. Once a month, it opens up for free tours, where a guide explains the rich history of the building. A perfect destination for lovers of history. The structure is “plantation plain” an architectural style that was prominent in the South between the 1820s and 1860s. During the holiday season, the house is decorated and offers hot chocolate and cookies.

Yellow River Wildlife Sanctuary

This family-owned sanctuary is an excellent way to spend a weekend with the kids. In the sanctuary, there are bison, wallabies, spider monkeys, lemurs, and 32 more types of animals. It has lots of fun activities, ranging from feeding animals up close to their gem mining experience. Gem mining is an incredibly fun activity for children, they get to search for “gems” (colorful rocks) from a man-made stream. Children 2 and under get to come in for free!
Lilburn has 150 acres of parks to relax, get some exercise, or have a picnic. Other attractions to Lilburn are Bethesda park, an indoor water park, and TreeTopQuest Development, an engaging treetop obstacle course. Only 14 minutes away from Lilburn, you can find Stone Mountain Park which has fun features like swiss cable cars, a historic square with buildings constructed between 1793 and 1875, and adventure golf.
