Historic Fourth Ward Park | Non-Profit, Volunteer-led Conservancy

The city of Atlanta owns the park, but volunteers are a tremendous help. They helped raise money to install a shade pavilion within the playground area, keep the ground free of weeds and trash, and invest their own money in turf maintenance because they believe in keeping this park beautiful.

With 17 acres and a breathtaking lake, the park amenities include endless options. It has a stormwater detention pond, a skate park, a playground, and even a splash pad for those hot summer days.

Grant Park | Historical Atlanta Park

Established in 1883, Grant Park is on a mission to create a beautiful space for the public to gather while preserving its history for the generations to come.

Freedom Park | Enhancing The Natural Environment

Woodruff Park | Known For It’s Significant Green Space in Downtown

Woodruff Park was named after Robert W. Woodruff and is on 4 acres of land. Woodruff Park has everything from a performing Pavillion and monuments to a play structure that spells out ATL, a chess court, and fountains.

Whether you like to sit down on a bench, walk through the park, or watch your kids play, Woodruff Park provides something for all ages. This is an amazing park in Downtown Atlanta!

Piedmont Park | Atlanta’s Most Visited Park

Piedmont Park has become the go-to space for events like weddings, business events, and filming locations, but there is more to this park than hosting. Summer camps for your kids will often take place here. Plenty of playground structures to climb on, a pool and a splash pad, and all-things sports like track and field, soccer, softball, and even sand volleyball courts are here for public use.

If you want to learn more about the history of Piedmont Park, you can join one of the guided tours. There are picnic areas where you can sit and take in the beautiful skylines or take your dog to the free off-leash dog park.

Whatever you choose to do in Piedmont Park, there are plenty of activity options.

Central Park | Home To Atlanta Music Festivals

The Central Park of the south has 17-acres of land that have a variety of amenities such as hiking paths, sports fields, a playground for your kids, and even a recreational center.

In addition to the everyday amenities, there is a music festival called the Shaky Knees that takes place here each year, where a large variety of musicians will be playing during a three-day event.

Stop by and play in the large grass area, kick the soccer ball, throw a football, have a picnic with family and friends, or sit and take in the beautiful scenery.

Atlanta Memorial Park | All-In-One Atlanta Park

This park has 200-acres of breathtaking land that you can explore. There is a golf course, playground area for kids, 23 tennis courts, a pond to go kayaking, a bird sanctuary, rolling green hills, hiking trails, and even a recital hall. You will have everything you’d ever dream of having in a park at your fingertips!

If you’re interested in reserving an area of the park for a party, family reunion, or a wedding proposal, you can do that through the City of Atlanta’s Park Department.

Cabbagetown Park | Small Neighborhood Park in Atlanta

While Cabbagetown Park is small or commonly referred to as “pint-sized,” this neighborhood park is a fun area for kids to explore and make memories of the play structures.

Little Nancy Creek Park | Community Supported Park

Little Nancy Park was officially founded in 2008 and became a non-profit later that year. As of today, the area has become a staple in the community of Atlanta.

Something that makes Little Nancy Park unique is that you have the opportunity to join the community garden. It does cost money, but it’s only $100 per year plus $1 per square foot of plotting space, but that money goes towards keeping the area clean and developed.

With a 1/4 mile loop, you can run or walk the trail to get your exercise in for the day.

If you’re planning a party and want to reserve the pavilions to enjoy your meal or have a shady spot to set everything up, you can call the City of Atlanta Department of Parks and Recreations. But if you show up at the park and the area is not reserved for that day, you can use it.

Your kids can pass the time away playing on the playground structures that provide endless fun for all ages.
