2. Passion City Church – Growing Non-Denominational Church in Atlanta

The Passion City Church system was founded by Louie and Shelley Giglio in February of 2009. As one of the best non-denominational churches in Atlanta, they teach their members and congregation about what they call “knowable truth”, covering topics like grace, whole-life worship, faith, and beyond.

The Atlanta location is led by Pastor Brad Jones along with his wife Brittany. They offer their members access to community groups where they can enjoy small learning opportunities. Passion City Church also provides kid-friendly classes and has a variety of programs to choose from.

3. Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus – Biggest Catholic Church in Atlanta

Founded in 1880, the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus has a long-standing history in Atlanta. This beautiful church was added to the National Register of Historic Places due to its incredible architecture and breathtaking stained glass windows. Members of the parish are led by Father John Howren, who has been serving for many years.

The Basilica follows the standard Catholic sacraments that include baptism, confirmation, first eucharist, and communion. Their ​FORMED program offers continued education during the week for members of their parish to expand their knowledge.

4. First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta – Beautiful Atlanta Presbyterian Church

Reverend Dr. Tony Sundermeier is the current leader of the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, which was founded in the year 1848. It was also recently listed in the National Register of Historic Places on May 29, 2020. It is the biggest Presbyterian church in Atlanta, focusing on key values that include serving the community, loving their neighbors, continual transformation, and servant leadership.

They have dubbed themselves as a community of humble followers of Jesus Christ, sharing about the grace of God, seeking continual conversion, and living with love in their hearts.

5. Impact Church – Welcoming Non-Denominational Church in Atlanta

As one of the top Atlanta non-denominational churches, Impact Church has core beliefs that discuss the need for a faith-based community, family-friendly activities, varied styles of worship, baptism, and holistic salvation. Led by Dawn Wright, who serves as the Chief Operating Pastor, their leadership includes multiple pastors who take turns sharing their insight and teachings from the scriptures.

6. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Family-friendly Christian Churches in Atlanta

Commonly called the Mormon church in Atlanta, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a safe place for people who want to worship their Savior. With a statewide membership of 87,411 people, Atlanta has the largest concentration of individuals who are part of the church. This played a big role in the reason they decided to build the Atlanta Georgia Temple located to the north of town.

7. Ebenezer Baptist Church – Historical Baptist Church in Atlanta 

Although the Ebenezer Baptist Church was founded in 1886, it struggled for its first few years due to minimal membership attendance. But after some time, it really began to see growth after 1900. It is most widely known for being the Atlanta church where Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a preacher from 1960 to 1968.

Now led by Reverend Dr. Raphael Gamaliel Warnock, who has been the Senior Pastor since 2005, their teachings say that mankind lives in sin and must repent, be baptized, and following God in faith.

8. Cascade United Methodist Church – Best Church in Atlanta for Methodists

Since it began in 1926, Cascade United has grown to a membership of about 7,000 people. It is presently led by Reverend Dr. Kevin R. Murriel, who is serving as the church’s 22nd pastor. Murriel continually teaches subjects surrounding the “Four Alls” which include: All need to be saved. All can be saved. All can know they are saved. All can be saved to the uttermost.

Recognized as the top Methodist church in Atlanta, Cascade United follows the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creed, also believing in the triune Godhead of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

9. Buckhead Church – One of the Top Non-Denominational Atlanta Churches

A fairly new non-denominational church in Atlanta, Buckhead Church has been around since 2001. They have about 8,000 people in their membership that meet throughout the week, led by senior pastor Andy Stanley.
