Among the packing, loading, and travel time to the new location, you’ll want to pause for a moment to ensure you schedule your Atlanta city utilities to be turned on before your arrival.

Without this crucial step, you could potentially show up to the new home or apartment and find no electricity or water. And with many providers unable to complete same-day services, you could end up without these amenities for an entire day or more.

With over 75,972 miles of distribution lines, Georgia Power provides electricity to more than 2.5 million people across the state.

How to Set Up Your Electricity With Georgia Power

To begin your Atlanta electric utilities, you can either call their main office directly at 888-660-5890 or set up services online. Through either process, you’ll need to provide your name, address, contact information, service start date, and other basic details.

A credit check will be completed to determine whether you will be required to pay a security deposit for your service. The amount will depend on your credit score and has the potential to be as much as two times the location’s average monthly bill.

Paying Your Atlanta Power Bill

The easiest way to take care of your Atlanta electric bill is through the Georgia Power online portal. This will give you the option to either make manual payments each month or to enroll in their Auto Pay program.

Bills can also be paid a few other ways, depending on your preference. If you’d like to pay in person, you can find the nearest payment location here. Additionally, your statements can be made over the phone by calling 800-672-2402 or by a check in the mail sent to Georgia Power Payments, 96 Annex, Atlanta, Georgia 30396.
